Reporting a bug
The game keeps no logs and sends us nothing, so a good report is genuinely all we have to go on. The four things that make a bug fixable:
- Which iPhone you're on, and which iOS version (Settings → General → About).
- What you were doing when it happened — building, a wave, a challenge, the code panel, crossing a border.
- What you expected versus what actually happened.
- Whether it happens every time or happened once.
A screen recording is worth all four. If the game crashed, the crash is
already on your device — Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics &
Improvements → Analytics Data, find the entries beginning with
Brickbots, and attach the most recent one.
Common questions
- What do I need to play?
- An iPhone running iOS 18 or later. The game is designed for iPhone; it runs on iPad in iPhone compatibility mode, which works but is not the layout it was built for.
- Does it need an internet connection?
- Never. The game makes no network requests at all — it plays identically in airplane mode, on a plane, or in a basement.
- Does it collect any of my data?
- No. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party code. Everything you build stays on your device. The full detail is on the privacy page.
- Does it work with a game controller?
- Yes. Connect a controller and the game switches to it the moment it appears, and back to touch the moment it drops. Every action is available both ways.
- Is it suitable for children?
- It's rated for ages 9 and up. The combat is machines fighting machines, with no blood, gore, or depiction of injury — but it is combat, so we declare it. There is no advertising, nothing to buy inside the game, no accounts, no chat, and no links out of the app.
- Where are my builds saved, and can I back them up?
- On your device, and only there. They're included in your normal iPhone or iCloud device backup, so restoring a backup restores them. There is no cloud save and no way for us to recover anything — deleting the app deletes your builds with it.
- I want a refund.
- Apple handles all purchases and refunds through reportaproblem.apple.com. We never see payment details and can't issue one ourselves — but do tell us what went wrong, because that we can fix.
- How do I suggest something?
- The same address. Feature requests from people who have actually played the game are the best notes we get.
Response time
This is a small operation, not a support desk — expect a reply within a few days rather than a few minutes. Every message gets one.
